Second accounts system now available for download
The second free accounts system from the Money in Mind project is now available for groups to download. This is a Simple accounts system, designed for small community groups who don't have lots of grants to keep track of.
For groups who need to track grants from several different funders, we also have an Annual Accounts system with grant tracking.
Using one of our systems is the next best thing to having your own personal advisor set up an accounts system that is tailor-made for your group. There are three simple steps:
- Download the accounts system and instructions to your computer
- Enter your own headings and balances on the set-up sheets
- Press the Generate button, to create your personalised spreadsheet
Downloading your chosen accounts system is completely free - all we ask in return is a quick email with the name and location of your group, so we can get in touch in a few months to find out how you are getting on, and ask for your comments.
The Money in Mind project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

Following valuable feedback from user groups, we have released version 1.1 of our free Annual accounts system for groups. The accounts system is designed to make life easier for groups who need to keep track of the income and expenditure of one or more grants or special projects, within their overall book keeping system. It is easy to use, with full instructions, enabling group treasurers to create a completely personalised Excel spreadsheet for their own group.
For small groups in Brighton & Hove, the Money in Mind project can offer free support with using the system, and all aspects of money management.
The changes made in version 1.1 are listed on the update notes.

Instant access to Resource Centre information from today
Groups who wish to view information on the Resource Centre's website will no longer have to complete a monitoring form and give their postcode in order to see the resources. We have made a change to our monitoring systems in response to feedback from our users and our own research, which showed that a significant number of potential visitors to the website were turned away by the monitoring form without seeing the information they were looking for.
Groups can now go directly to:
- our highly-rated information sheets on all aspects of running a group.
- our Favourite Funders pages, which give details of over 65 recommended funders for small groups in Sussex.
- lists of suppliers in Beachcomber, our online database of useful local resources and services for groups.
Feedback on our website, and on all our services, is always welcome.
