Aims of Fund

To support projects run by young people that will help their community.

Who can apply

Young people who are:

  • aged 14-16, in education, and facing a range of difficulties at school such as; truanting, risk of exclusion and educational underachievement; or
  • aged 16-25 and not in education, training or work (or working less than 16 hours a week).

How much and what can you apply for

You can apply for up to £3000 for projects that:

  • benefit a local community need in the UK
  • benefit the young people running the project
  • are new activities.

How to apply

Download an application from the website. If you are eligible you will be invited to go and talk about your project in more depth.

Deadlines for application

There are no deadlines for application although any applications received at the start of the year are unlikely to be processed until the new financial year. The length of the process is different according to the person, project or circumstances.

Favourite Funders

If you are looking for help with fundraising, you may find our Favourite Funders pages useful.

Beachcomber

Beachcomber is our online database of useful resources and services for groups in Sussex.  It contains contact details for people who can offer specialist help with running a group, as well as suppliers for practical resources and equipment.

Reference Library

We have a small reference library of books and information for community and voluntary groups.  Our full library catalogue is available online.  All groups are welcome to drop in and use the library, free of charge.

Front desk information service

If you have a question about running your group that is not answered here, you could try asking our front desk worker.  We will respond to your request within 7 days.  Contact us by phone (01273 606160), email, or by using our feedback form, or just drop in - we are here from 9am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday.
