Gannett Foundation Fund

Aims of Fund

To "support projects which take a creative approach to fundamental issues such as education and neighbourhood improvements, economic development, youth development, community problem solving, assistance to disadvantaged people, environmental conservation and cultural enrichment".

Who can apply

Any local registered charity can apply.

Applications will not be accepted for: political or religious organisations, state or privately run schools (other than special needs), hospitals (other than hospices); medical or research organisations; or animal charities.

How much and what can you apply for

You can apply for £5,000 to £10,000 (smaller grants will be considered but with a preference for 'imaginative and ambitious projects on a bigger scale').

You cannot apply for running costs (e.g. salaries), or work to a building you do not own. It is better to apply for the costs of specific activities or projects.

You cannot apply if your group has received funding from them within the last two years.

How to apply

Download an application from the website or request one from the Argus. You will need to supply copies of most recent accounts, and a report will be required by successful groups within 12 months of the grant being received.

Deadlines for application

Grants are made once a year in the autumn. The dates are published in the Argus.

Other Information
