Grants sponsored by the local Hilton Hotel:charities, schools and other "recognisable and accountable" community organisations that work with young people.
How much and what can you apply for
You can apply for up to £10,000 and sponsored grants tend to be lower.
Grants are awarded for projects that support young people:
- in the vital areas of education, awareness and training.
- whilst they are undergoing health treatment and care.
You can only apply for specific projects that can be one-off, or run from 1 to 3 years.
Raffle prizes
Hilton Hotels has agreed to donate a limited number of accommodation vouchers for use by charities for raffle or auction prizes at their fundraising events. To enter the monthly draw to receive a voucher, requests should be made by email to info@hilton-foundation.org.uk. Whether successful or unsuccessful, to maintain a fair response they require that organisations leave a gap of three months between each request. Please note that once awarded, these vouchers cannot be transferred, extended or exchanged.
How to apply
Local Hilton hotels run fundraising events, and 50% of the proceeds are allocated to local sponsored organisations. If you would like to become a sponsored organisation you should contact the Foundation Champion at Brighton Metropole Hilton Hotel.
For central grants you need to download the grant guidelines and application form from the website.
Deadlines for application
Central grants: 3 May 2011, 2 August 2011 and 18 October 2011. You should receive a decision within 4 months.
Sponsored grants: There is no application process for Sponsored Grants. Hilton team members work with the Foundation to make these grants to local charities and schools that they have identified and nominated. Provided that the hotel has raised sufficient funds, and that the charity works primarily with children or young people up to the age of 25, grants are approved outright and the relationship maintained locally.
