Aims of Fund

To raise money to support local, national and international community organisations and charities.

Who can apply

Any local community group or charity.

How much and what can you apply for

The Rotary Club aim to be flexible and will take all applications on their merit. They generally make donations between a few hundred pounds up to £2,000. They will consider giving you a set amount of funding, or they may prefer to do some fundraising for you for a longer term project.

How to apply

Write to the Community Service Chairman of one of the clubs listed below. Your letter should explain what your organisation does, and details of the project you need funding for. The Resource Centre Information Sheet on Fundraising Applications gives guidance on 'writing a letter of application'.

The Rotary Club will get back in touch with you and either invite you to a meeting of the club or ask you to provide any more information they require.

Generally make donations of around £150, and then have a few larger charities such as Martletts Hospice, that they raise a lot more money for.

Favourite Funders

Beachcomber

Beachcomber is our online database of useful resources and services for groups in Sussex.  It contains contact details for people who can offer specialist help with running a group, as well as suppliers for practical resources and equipment.

Reference Library

We have a small reference library of books and information for community and voluntary groups.  Our full library catalogue is available online.  All groups are welcome to drop in and use the library, free of charge.

Front desk information service

If you have a question about running your group that is not answered here, you could try asking our front desk worker.  We will respond to your request within 7 days.  Contact us by phone (01273 606160), email, or by using our feedback form, or just drop in - we are here from 9am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday.
