Aims of Fund
The Sussex Community Foundation was set up in January 2006 to build a substantial, permanent fund to support charities and communities across Sussex.
Who can apply
Any local charity or not-for-profit group can apply, as long as you have a constitution or set of rules. They are particularly keen to support small local groups.
How much and what can you apply for
The Foundation is currently managing funds on behalf of a wide range of individuals and companies. The grants available range from £500 - £5000. Details of each fund and their criteria are on their website, but they collectively fund projects in the following categories:
- Addressing social and economic disadvantage
- Helping young people and the long term unemployed into work through activities focussed on education
- Self help, health & wellbeing
- Local environmental issues
- Children and young people
- Children with special needs and their families
- Homelessness
- Women at risk of domestic violence
How to apply
Download the online application and send it to the above address with a covering letter explaining how your project meets the criteria of the fund you are applying for.
Deadlines for application
Deadlines are every 3 months and are posted on the website. You should get a decision within 6-8 weeks of the deadline.
