Sported
Aims of Fund
To provide business support and financial resources to community sports organisations, enabling them to reach and improve the lives of more disadvantaged young people than ever before.
Who can apply
Any of the following groups can apply:
- Un-constituted club or group
- An individual running community sport activity
- A local or regional charity
- A social enterprise company
- A constituted club or group offering sport for development of young people?
To become eligible for a grant you need to become a member of Sported. This gives you access to areas of their website which provide advice and information, access to their small grants scheme and the opportunity to apply for a mentor to help your project develop. If you are allocated a mentor you will then become eligible to apply for the larger grant.
How much and what can you apply for
Sported provides information, advice, support and funding.
They offer small grants of up to £2000, and larger grants of £2000-10000
They focus on organisational development so will consider funding salaries, running costs/overheads and programme delivery costs. They will also consider supporting projects for more than one year, but funding will always be offered as part of a wider support package to ensure the ongoing development of your project or organisation. Generally they will not help fund large capital expenses such as building facilities.
They will also help Members find other funding opportunities.
How to apply
Complete the online membership application. You will then receive information about how to apply for a small grant or a mentor. You cannot apply for a small grant and a mentor in the same year. You will only be eligible to apply for a large grant if you have made a successful application to be mentored and are receiving support from a Sported mentor.
Deadlines for application
There are no deadlines for membership applications. To receive deadlines for grant and mentoring applications register as a member and contact the regional manager, Paul Napthine.
