LGBT+ Futures: National Emergencies Trust Fund

Grants available for: LGBT+ non-profit groups, organisations and projects
Size of grants given:  Small grants up to £5,000 or Main grants between £5,001 and £15,000
Next deadline:  no deadlines, but money must be spent by May 31st 2021

Aims of Fund

To address the additional needs of LGBT+ people and communities most adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and to support and strengthen LGBT+ organisations that have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Who can apply

Any UK based non-profit group, organisation or project that works with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + (LGBT+) people is welcome to apply.

Organisations applying must have Objects in their constitution specifically outlining their support of LGBT+ communities and/or be clear in their public facing materials (e.g. website) that their existing work proactively engages LGBT+ people or communities.

You must have:

  • A governing document e.g. a constitution
  • Two or more unrelated trustees, board members or directors
  • A correspondence address
  • Relevant Safeguarding & Diversity & Inclusion Policies
  • A bank account in the organisations name, or be able to nominate a registered charity that will hold a grant in trust for them

How much and what can you apply for

Small grants are up to £5,000. Main grants are between £5,001 and £15,000, but grants above £10,000 will be exceptional.

Funding will be only be awarded to support LGBT+ projects which require support to enable them to continue through the Covid-19 pandemic and which are meeting the immediate needs of LGBT+ people and communities adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Projects are likely to focus on at least one of the following community needs:

  • Wellbeing Services
  • Emergency Accommodation
  • Organisation Running Costs
  • Education and Training
  • Food, Medicines and other essentials
  • Information and Advice
  • Temporary Emergency Response Coordination

All grants must be fully spent by 31 May 2021.

Deadlines for application

No deadlines. Decisions will be made within 6 weeks of applying. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until all the funding has been awarded.
