- Call in – we are open from 9am to 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We are closed on Wednesdays, weekends and bank holidays.
If you are contacting us for advice or further information, please note that our main focus is supporting community groups based in Brighton & Hove, and Sussex. If you are a group based outside of Sussex, you’re still welcome to contact us but we are limited in the time and amount of advice we can give in person (e.g. over the phone), particularly as it can get very busy in our open-access Centre.
Getting to the Resource Centre
By bicycle / on foot:
Carlton Hill / Kingswood Street is a very steep hill. Secure cycle parking outside the Centre.
Take the 18/23 bus to Queens Park Road (Egremont Gate stop) and walk down the hill, or any bus to the Old Steine and walk up. See Brighton & Hove Buses website for details of bus times and routes.
The Resource Centre is on the ground floor with a ramp into the building. There are wide doors throughout and a fully accessible toilet. Parking near the Centre can be difficult but there are two disabled bays in Tilbury Place.
All publications are available in large print, tape, Braille or disk, on request. Magnifying lens in information library.
We welcome calls via Typetalk from minicom users.
To book equipment for hire, click on the item you wish to book, and then click “add to basket”. Once you have selected everything you would like to book, please submit your booking request using the online form. Your request will be dealt with by a real person at the Resource Centre, and we will get back to you within 7 days. If you have an urgent equipment request, please phone us on 01273 606160.
Feedback, suggestions and comments
At the Resource Centre our aim is to build our services around the needs of our user groups. We are always really pleased to hear ideas and suggestions. Maybe there is a piece of equipment that you would like to hire but we don’t currently provide? Maybe you need some information to help run your group but can’t find it on our website? Or perhaps you’d like to tell us about something we’ve done that you have found particularly useful, and think other groups will too?
Please do get in touch with your comments and suggestions. You can email us, write to us, or come into the centre and fill out one of our comment forms.
We aim to be as helpful as possible and to provide an efficient service. We welcome any suggestions for improvement which you may have.
If there are any problems, please let us know and we shall aim to put them right quickly. We shall also consider whether there are any wider implications for our service as a whole.
If, however, you are not satisfied with our response, you may make a formal complaint in writing to our management committee. The committee is made up of our elected trustees and directors.
We shall send you a written reply within one month of receiving your written complaint.
