Aims of Fund

To support projects and organisations playing a vital role in helping their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic

Who can apply

You can apply if your organisation is a:

  • voluntary or community organisation
  • registered charity
  • constituted group or club
  • not-for-profit company or Community Interest Company

Your organisation should involve your community in the design, development and delivery of the activities you’re planning.

See their website for more details about who can and cannot apply

How much and what can you apply for

£10,000 to £100,000. If you want to apply for less than £10,000, you can apply to Awards for All, which is running a parallel scheme.

Funding is being given for 6 months of expenditure.

Priority is being given to organisations supporting people and communities who experience disproportionate challenge and difficulty as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

This category includes, for instance, organisations supporting older people; disabled people (including people with long-term health conditions); lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer + (LGBTQ+) communities and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities; all of whom are facing specific challenges during the current crisis. It also includes organisations who provide advice and support to those pushed in crisis as a result of the pandemic and those organisations supporting people and their families with end-of-life care.

How to apply

Complete the online application form or send in an email or video which covers:

  • the name of your project
  • where it’ll take place
  • what you’d like to do – how has demand for your services changed?
  • how your work will involve your community
  • how your project fits with local activities
  • who will benefit from your project – how have they been affected by COVID-19?
  • what difference your project will make – how will it mitigate the impact of COVID-19?
  • how much money you need
  • how long you need the money for

See the website for details of which regional office to send your email or video to.

Deadlines for application

No deadlines, but the website says: “We’re currently listening to the sector, ahead of closing our crisis funding and moving to offer support to recovery in the longer term for communities. If you’re looking for longer-term funding, we’ll announce details of how to apply for this support in the autumn.”
