Will the people in charge get paid?

Some not-for-profit organisations are overseen by a group of volunteers (sometimes called a management committee or board of trustees). Having unpaid volunteers in charge makes it easier to get grant funding, and charities are generally not permitted to pay their trustees. Other not-for-profit organisations, such as those that make income through trade or investment, can be led entirely by paid workers.
