Will your organisation be charitable?

In order to be considered a charity, an organisation must have charitable aims and be run for the public benefit. These things are defined by law. If you would like your organisation to be a charity, you will need to write a governing document that shows that your aims are legally charitable. Your organisation will then be entitled to benefits of being a charity, such as tax relief and access to grants only available to charities. You will be governed by rules and regulations that affect charities.

✅ Yes

We hope you find this page useful. Would you like to make a donation?

All Resource Centre information is available for free because we know small community groups have small budgets. However, we are a small charity, so if you are in a position to make a donation, it will help us to keep running this service into the future.
