Brighton & Hove City Council Communities Fund: Resilience Fund

Aims of Fund

To support local community groups, voluntary organisations, and not-for-profit social enterprises to respond to the city’s changing needs around the climate, poverty and inequality.

Who can apply

Applications are open to locally-based community and voluntary organisations with incomes up to £100,000 a year. The Resilience Fund aims to support groups already working with local people and communities.

If you are a new group or a smaller organisation, with an income of up to £20,000 a year, the Council’s Engagement Fund might be a better fit for you.

How much and what can you apply for

Up to £10,000

Funding from the resilience fund can usually be used for core costs of the group or organisation, project costs or a combination of both, as well as small items of equipment.

Your activities must contribute to at least one of the following outcomes:

  • improving wellbeing
  • building cohesion
  • promoting fairness

Applications must be made via the council’s Community Fund online form. You can preview the questions Council’s website.

Deadlines for application

There are three funding rounds a year, and funds must be spent by the end of the financial year in which they are granted.

The final deadline for 2023/24 has now passed.
